Château Angelus Dinner, Wednesday 1st March at Medlar, Chelsea
We are extremely excited to hold our first dining event of 2023 with one of our favourite Bordeaux estates, the illustrious Château Angelus – and an icon of St Emilion.
Château Angélus is one of the largest and most prestigious St-Émilion estates, owned by the de Boüard family who have made wine on the estate since 1782. Now under the direction of eighth generation Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal, the estate continues to go from strength to strength, as she has continuously raised the profile of the estate and garnered an indestructible reputation along the way. Under Henri de Boüard’s stewardship, Angélus became the only St-Emilion property to be promoted from Grand Cru Classé to Premier Grand Cru Classé B (in 1996) and, finally, in 2012 to the coveted Premier Grand Cru Classé A until they withdrew from the classification last year.
We are delighted to welcome Bong Grelat-Tram, Deputy Director of Representation at the Château. Hosting alongside our CEO Gregory Swartberg, she’ll give you the opportunity to discover the history behind the St Emilion estate and offer insights into the production of the grand vin as each wine is poured.
The evening will focus on some of the more recent highlights of the Château, including the impressive 2015 and 2010 vintages and we are confident that it will provide a unique opportunity to explore the Château and its successes. Head Chef, Joe Mercer-Nairne at Medlar will be creating a menu especially for this dinner to complement each vintage of Angelus.
With only 10 remaining places available, tickets are limited so we would advise booking early via the form below: this is a brilliant opportunity to sample some of the greatest wines from this historic estate, you won’t want to miss it!
