Wine investment

2021 started of on a good foot with the Liv-ex 100 index rising by 0.6% in January. This follows a steady 1-year performance of +6.3% for the index with very little volatility as compared to many other assets in 2020. Italy and Champagne were the stars of 2020, while January saw particular strong growth among the Burgundy and Rhone regions.

We are pleased to have had our first company Burgundy Campaign with the much admired 2019 vintage released to private clients and investors. We are happy to have been able to add some fantastic wines to the portfolio of many of our clients.

Wine of the month

Created in 1365, Château Smith Haut Lafitte is one of the oldest estates in Bordeaux. Acquired in 1990 by the Cathiard family, who literally fell under its spell, the estate is experiencing a veritable storm of modernization! State-of-the-art winemaking tools and even its own mini cooperage: everything is done to allow Smith Haut Lafitte to reach the top of its appellation. The vineyard of this Grand Cru Classé des Graves covers a surface area of 67 hectares of red grape varieties. The concentration and smoothness of the fruit are supported by a beautiful tannic structure.
