A fantastic selection of Bordeaux 2020 – “an enigma” vintage
As has been well recorded, yields across the region for the 2021 vintage are much smaller, with estimates of a harvest at 25-30% lower than the average.
This will be one of the last opportunities to secure 2020 Bordeaux at these excellent prices. 2020 was a stunning vintage, creating a wonderful trio with the 2018 and 2019 solar years.
Top wine critic Lisa Perrotti-Brown has applauded the vintage as “an enigma”; the wines of 2020 are held in high regard and would be an excellent addition to any collector’s cellar.
A few personal standouts from the team: Chateau Tour Saint Christophe is a wine that seriously over-delivers for its price, scoring 95-96 points from James Suckling and is on offer at less than £25 / bottle. Additionally, Chateau Bellevue Mondotte, a tiny two hectares in size and owned by Gérard Perse, the famed owner of the iconic Chateau Pavie. It is unsurprising that the quality is so high, being rated the near perfect score of 98-99 points by critic James Suckling.
These wines have experienced huge demand since the En-Primeur release and will deliver significant value for money. You can comfortably lay down this vintage for years to come, knowing that when you do pop the cork, you’ll thoroughly savour the contents.
