DOMAINE LEFLAIVE

The most famous estate in Puligny-Montrachet, and one of the most important in the whole of Burgundy, Domaine Leflaive was founded in 1717 by Joseph Leflaive. However, it was his grand-daughter, Anne-Claude Leflaive that truly transformed the estate. Over the course of her tenure from 1994 to 2015, she transformed Domaine Leflaive, championing biodynamic practices, focusing on the individual treatment of vines with plant-based compounds, and in accordance with the lunar cycle. Initially started out of concern for the environment, the treatments have caused the vineyard to thrive, and the resulting wines setting the benchmark for winemaking in Puligny-Montrachet.
