Description
Giacomo Conterno is an Italian estate located on the outskirts of Monforte d’Alba in Piedmont, south of the Barolo DOCG zone. Best known for two great Barolos: the Cascina Francia and the Monfortino Riserva, both of which are long-lived and earthy The Monfortino Riserva Barolo is aged for at least seven years in very large oak casks called botti, avoiding excessive vanillin sweetness. Production levels for the Barbera and Cascina Francia Barolo reach 20,000 bottles each year. In exceptional years, around 7000 bottles of Riserva may be produced.
