Description
Behind this iconic red label, there’s a phenomenal Barolo Riserva, one that sets the benchmark for the region. As Decanter puts it: “Giacosa’s Riservas are among the most prized wines in Piedmont.” Famed for his ability to select the finest fruit, the bespectacled Bruno Giacosa was a sad loss to the fine wine world when he passed away in January 2018, making wines like this even more sought-after. Bottled from the estate’s vineyards Vigna Le Rocche was only created when Bruno Giacosa deemed it ready and only in vintages that he considered of the utmost quality. That makes any release of this wine, not just rare, but an iconic event. Bruno’s daughter Bruna now makes that decision and the wines continue their exceptional run of form.
