Description
Formed on the poetic limestone slopes of Saint-Émilion, Château Berliquet have created a wine teaming with graceful tannins that is laced with supple flavours of raspberry, graphite and cedar. A rocky few years saw Berliquet at risk of being subsumed by its illustrious neighbour, Château Canon. But taken under the guise of acclaimed winemaker Nicolas Audebert in 2017, Berliquet’s unique terroir was recognised as outstanding in its own right. Baring the similar elegance and precision of Canon, Berliquet’s terrain benefits from soil that is rich in clay, allowing for both a Merlot and Cabernet Franc that is abundant in flavour. Armed with a flurry of terroir specialists, and under Audebert’s watchful expertise, the results have been breath-taking. Displaying an unwavering commitment to sustainability, Berliquet have recently introduced new environmental practices to increase biodiversity. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for their upcoming vintages.
