Description
Château Angélus is one of the largest and most prestigious St-Émilion estates, owned by the de Boüard family who have made wine on the estate since 1782. Now under the direction of eighth generation Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal, the estate continues to go from strength to strength, as she has continuously raised the profile of the estate and garnered an indestructible reputation along the way. The Château was originally named for the bells that could be heard in the vineyard from three of St-Émilion’s churches, calling the workers to Angelus prayers, famously depicted on the labels and most recently spotted as James Bond’s claret of choice once again in No Time to Die.
