Cicala 2016

Description

This wine has an incredible perfume of rosewood with powerful notes of delicious cherries notes, tart, spices, earthy unami and multitude of fruits. It is quite pronounced with high acid, tannic but very integrated and rounded. The vineyard “Cicala” [meaning: balm-cricket] is about 40-45 years old. Poderi Aldo Conterno is a well-regarded and much soughter-after Piedmont producer known for its wines from the best parcels of the Bussia vineyard. Aldo Conterno, was regarded by many as the greatest of all Barolo winemakers. The vineyard situated on south and southwest-facing slopes with chalky-clay soils.
