Description

Château d’Aiguilhe is a 110 hectare estate located in the Côtes de Bordeaux Castillon appellation focusing on the production of a Merlot-dominant Bordeaux blend, a second wine called Seigneurs d’Aiguilhe, and a white Bordeaux wine from Sauvignon Blanc. The estate spans 110 hectares (272 acres) but is planted to just 50 hectares (124 acres) of vines – 80 percent Merlot and 20 percent Cabernet Franc. Grapes are handpicked and sorted before and after destemming then fermented in oak vats and cement tanks with maceration lasting 28 days. Production averages 9000 to 10,000 cases annually.
