Description
Acquired by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild in 1999, the Languedoc estate incorporates grape varieties from Bordeaux and the Rhône. On a terroir of clay and limestone, its 43 hectares of vineyard are planted with 70% Bordeaux varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc) and 30% Mediterranean varieties (Syrah, Grenache and Malbec). Using similar vineyard practices to the other Rothschild estates (disbudding, leaf removal and cluster thinning), Domaines de Baronarques carries a legacy of some of the finest winemaking in the world.
