Description
The historic Château Durfort-Vivens has produced wine for generations, and has been under the leadership of the Lurton family since 1961. Its 55-hectare vineyard is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (c.70%), Merlot (c.24%) and Cabernet Franc (c.6%) on a terroir of gravelly soils and limestone. The wine’s classic cassis and blackcurrant character comes from the dominance of Cabernet Sauvignon, and is complete with elegant tannins. The Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in amphora, whilst the final blend matures in 40% new French oak barrels. Certified biodynamic since 2016, Durfort-Vivens is respected for producing high-quality, low-intervention wines.
