Description
A 2ème Cru Classé, Château Gruaud-Larose is famous for producing one of Saint-Julien’s most full-bodied wines. Highly tannic in its youth, this is a wine that fully opens-up and blossoms with age, to form an abundant blend of rich black fruits, cedar and liquorice flavours. The estate’s 80 hectares of vineyard comprise a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (c.65%), Merlot (c.25%), Cabernet Franc (c.8%) and Petit Verdot (c.2%). Based in Saint-Julien, the terroir benefits from dry soil and a warm climate from the July to September period. To Gruaud Larose, following organic and biodynamic agricultural practices is essential in assuring that their vines continue to thrive.
