The 2021 Haut-Marbuzet shows considerable promise, exhibiting aromas of sweet blackberries, plums and cherries mingled with notions of loamy soil and spicy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with lively acids, ripe tannins and a supple, sumptuous profile, its a terrific performance for this Saint-Estèphe estate.

Savoury fruits, touch of green pepper, this is old school and classically sculpted but well handled with juice and character. Will make for enjoyable driking over the next decade, with the acidities to make it a great food wine, because there are dark fruits here also to balance things out, and bitter fennel notes on the finish to add complexity. Tasted twice. 45hl/h yield. Harvest September 24 to October 13. Famille Dubosq.
