Description
Château Trotte Vieille is a 10-hectare estate based in the Saint-Émilion appellation of Bordeaux. Purchased by Marcel Borie in 1955, it has since belonged to the négociant house Borie-Manoux. Its name derives from the legend of “the old trotting lady” who spent her time trotting around the area in search of gossip.
Located on a slope east of Saint- Émilion its 10-hectare walled vineyard is planted with Merlot (c.50%), Cabernet Franc (c.45%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (c.5%). The final blend is mature in 80% new oak barriques for 18 months before being bottled unfiltered. The wine boasts a powerful yet elegant nose of red and black fruits, complete with balanced tannins and excellent structure.
