Description
This is the 1st Cru of Argiano. A unique Brunello, produced from the oldest vineyard and only in the best vintages. It is the most refined expression of Brunello, aged in specially spelected barrels for about 30 months. The nose is extremely complex and
broad. Classic Sangiovese notes are on display, particularly marasca cherry and flowers, but there are also scents of orange peel, sage, and balsamic, among others. Dense, structured, and savory in the mouth with silky, integrated tannins and a fragrant acidity. Very long finish.
Argiano is an estate in the Tuscan region of Montalcino. It is well-known for its Sangiovese-based red wines under the traditional Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, and more modern red wines under the IGT Toscana designation. Argiano’s history dates back to the construction of the villa, which dates back to the late 16th Century. By the time it was completed in 1596, it is believed the estate had started to produce wine (records show olive oil was being produced at this time).
