Tasted blind. Deep smudgy garnet. Dark and tarry. Lots of black fruit. Chewy, dense and yet harmonious in that big style. Dark and savoury and with a lovely graphite flavour and surprisingly fine texture. (JH)

Roasted meat, charcoal and wet earth on the nose, but also some blackberry fruit. On the full front palate the berry fruit is really there, but then the tannins come through and dominate the finish, making it feel quite chewy. Maybe more time in bottle will help this wine. Drink or hold. Château Quintus vertical tasting. SP.
