The second label from Angelus has a very pleasing bouquet – fine delineation and focus with pure dark cherry and blueberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with good tension and freshness on the entry. It does fall away a little rapidly so hopefully it will develop more body and weight during the elevage. We will see. Tasted April 2013.

His second wine, the 2012 Carillon de L’Angélus, has turned out well for proprietor Hubert de Boüard. Dense ruby purple, it is soft and round, with deep fruit, light tannin and a nicely textured mouthfeel. This is a serious second wine to drink over the next decade.
