Tasted ex-chateau and single blind in Southwold. The Chasse Spleen 2008 has an elegant, well-knit bouquet with impressive purity: blackberry, briary, wild hedgerow and a touch of autumn leaves. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, very elegant with expressive Merlot counterbalancing the austerity of the Cabernet. It is a little foursquare towards the finish but is endowed with decent length and fine precision. Tasted January 2012.

Light ruby. Fresh, curranty nose. Very vivacious and nicely mellow. I could imagine enjoying this already.
