Gorgeous perfume just jumps out the glass here, strongly scented and inviting. This is succulent and sweet, with an almost cherry kirsch, alcohol kick to this but in an excellent way. Mouthwatering and brimming with energy, theres depth, spicy edges and a silky smooth mid palate. Its seductive and heady while also complex, nuanced and layered. A long life ahead.

60% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah, 20% Grenache. Deep ruby-purple in colour. This already has a brilliant nose. Peppery and deep, there are tones of blackberry, black cherry, rosemary, thyme, and layer upon layer of spice. The palate is just as impressive – deep and brooding dark fruit forms a foundation with ripe but plentiful tannins to bring real backbone and structure. This is layered with sweet and savoury spices and game, with high tones of white pepper and violets. This superbly complex, refined and serious wine is a knockout. Very impressive. (TP)
