Located in St Péray in the Rhône in France, Domaine Du Tunnel has earned a reputation as a leading wine producer. The estate is renowned for producing excellent white and red wines.
Stéphane Robert began building this estate in 1994 and today works on 3 ha in Cornas, 2.5 ha in Saint Joseph and 2 ha in Saint Peray. Domaine Du Tunnel is characterized by the intensity of the fruit rather than the oak.
Stéphane’s Cornas are made from fifteen plots of Syrah. The blending of plots from several locations gives the wine layers of complexity and character.

The base 2016 Cornas from Robert is a killer wine that shows the style of the vintage as well as the quality of the estate brilliantly. Crème de cassis, blackberries, smoked earth, spice, and hints of meatiness all flow to a layered, seamless, full-bodied Cornas that does everything right. Balanced, pure, and elegant, its well worth a case purchase and will keep for 15-20 years.
