The 2016 Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes, aged in 30% new oak with the same percentage of whole bunch, has an attractive, cohesive bouquet with clean, pure blackberry, bilberry and blueberry fruit, expressing the essence of Chambolle with style. The palate is medium-bodied with a sharp, penetrating entry, a keen line of acidity that lends this freshness and tension, and underneath the dark berry fruit a linear finish with tangible mineral tones lingering on the aftertaste. Excellent.

The Chambolle Vieilles Vignes bottling was cropped at a meager 15hl/ha this year, so its no surprise that the wine is intense and concentrated, leaping from the glass with a deep-pitched bouquet of raspberry, plum and dark spice. Its full, ample and complete on the palate.
