This is delicious Barolo from the Monprivato vineyard in the village of Castiglione Fallett. Garnet red with orange-coloured highlights, with a complex nose, very fruity, elegant, intense, spicy, with flowery touches. It has excellent body with power and stuffing, demanding, masculine, long, full. The members of the Giuseppe Mascarello family have been growing wines for more than a century and a half, first as farmers running the Manescotto estate in the village of La Morra for the marchesa Giulia Colbert Faletti di Barolo, and then on their own property since the late 1800s.

The Giuseppe Mascarello 2016 Barolo Monprivato is a beautiful wine that is teeming with energy, depth and electricity. This is a naturally very complex and complete wine, thanks to the extraordinary conditions of this epic growing season. The results are relatable and impactful, as fruit from 2016 shows power, grace and lots of clearly recognized varietal purity. This edition of Monprivato is fine and sensual with soft berry tones that cede to blue flower, candied orange peel, fresh mint and earthy rust. The wines tannins and structure build momentum and staying power. This wine is large in scope and impressive (released with 15,000 bottles made).
