Description
Established by Joseph in 1880, the company is still run by the Drouhin family. Over the years they have built up the Domaine to include vines in many prestigious vineyards, including many Premier and Grand Crus. They take a very gentle approach to their wine making, using biodynamics in the vineyards, whole bunch fermentation, not excessive use of new oak. The resulting wines have a fabulous reputation, and are very much in demand. Corton Bressandes is one of the only red Grand Crus of the Côte de Beaune, located on the rather steep slopes of the hill of Corton, clearly visible from miles around and capped by low-growing oak trees. The estate dates back to Gallo-Roman times when Othon, an Emperor, owned the vineyard. Since the wine travels well, it soon acquired great fame around the world.
