Softening and opening up at 7 years old, although still in primary fruit territory. Supple gourmet texture, rich and supple with shots of butterscotch, blueberry and raspberry. Plenty of tannic pressure on the finish, great quality, plenty of Pomerol character. The finish combines salinity and sweetness, real push and pull. 75% new oak, 25% one year old barrels. Last vintage under Jean-Michel Laporte, just 400 bottles left at the estate. 38hl/h yield, harvest September 23 to October 6.

A blend of 78% Merlot and 22% Cabernet Franc, the 2014 La Conseillante is deep garnet in color. It rolls effortlessly out of the glass with ready-for-business scents of kirsch, redcurrant jelly, and dried roses, plus nuances of Indian spices, fallen leaves, and damp soil. Medium-bodied, it coats the palate with red and black fruit preserves, supported by ripe, grainy tannins, finishing long and perfumed.
