Tenuta dell’Ornellaia is a 91-hectare domaine (76 hectares of which are currently cultivated) created in 1981 by Marquis Lodovico Antinori, and is planted with typical Bordeaux varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot). Made in the same meticulous manner as the Grand Vin Ornellaia, the estates second wine Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia is the ultimate cellar staple. With a mixture of marine, alluvial and volcanic soils, the grapes from each plot are fermented separately and then expertly blended.
