Petrus 2011

Petrus

Case Format: 6x75cl

Max score: 95.0

Pétrus is one of the world`s rarest and most expensive wines, this tiny estate is unusual for Pomerol in that it is on clay, which is ideal for Merlot. Attention to detail is exact – grapes are only harvested, by hand, in the afternoons, to avoid the morning dew!

Jancis Robinson

Tasted blind. Simple crimson. Modulated, mild nose. Low key. This might be a disappointment if people have paid a high price for this. A little drying on the end.

James Suckling

This is tight and firm, with blueberry and blackberry character, and hints of sweet tobacco. Some wet earth, too. Black olives. Full body and very tight, with ultra-fine tannins and a fresh finish. Powerful and muscular. Try after 2023.
