Part of the Fontodi stable, this wonderful Chianti Classico Gran Selezione showcases the best of this Italian region. The wine has a scrumptious taste of dried raspberries, boysenberries, vanilla and brambleberries. Full-bodied and tightly wound with eye-catching minerality. The acidity sharpens out the exuberant red fruit perfectly. Fontodi is a wine producer in the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany. The estate is located in the heart of the Classico zone, south of Panzano, in the valley known as the Conca d’Oro, (or golden shell) due to its sun-catching amphitheatre shape.

Lustrous mid ruby. Minerally rather than fruit-driven at this moment. Generous, suave fruit on the palate finely balanced by a tangy, acidic nerve running through the fruit and firm tannins that demand more time. (WS)

This organic wine offers black fruit, grilled rosemary, pressed rose and crushed limestone. All of these aromas enjoy special, forward-moving intensity that dovetails into the ample fruit generosity that this sun-filled vintage will be remembered for.
