Cru Wine Events: Bordeaux En Primeur Tasting Evening
BORDEAUX 2022 EN PRIMEUR TASTING EVENING
On Thursday 8th June we had the privilege of hosting over 80 enthusiastic present and future Cru Wine clients at our inaugural En Primeur Tasting Evening, hosted by leading fine wine critic, Jane Anson.
For many of our guests, this was their first taste of an En Primeur wine and it was an unrivalled opportunity to try over 30 different wines from across the appellations – a rare occasion that is often only reserved for critics and the trade.
Following a glass of champagne and an introduction to the vintage and how to taste en primeur wines from Jane Anson, guest were able to mingle and work their way through the room and sample reds, whites and sweets from across the region. Members of the Cru Wine team and of course, Jane Anson were on hand to answer questions and chat through the wines that they were tasting.
Tasting en primeur can be quite hard work on the palate, so of course another glass of champagne was in order to refresh our guests along with delicious food served from our venue, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace.
Speaking after the event, CEO & Founder, Gregory Swartberg mentioned: “Events like this have always been a huge goal of mine and the company, an event that can demystify the world of fine wine for our clients and enrich their experience. For many of our guests that evening, it was their first ever taste of a young Bordeaux wine. Guided wonderfully by our host Jane Anson, they were able to understand and experience en primeur wine and how it develops to what they’ll be popping a cork on in a few years or decade’s time. This was a huge effort to put on, with everyone from logistics, marketing and our sales team playing a crucial role before and during the evening to make it the success it was and I could not be more proud of our fantastic team.”
