CRITIC REVIEWS
James Suckling
Four blocks here, the same since 1974 – two in Aÿ, one in Mesnil and one in Avize – all selected for their ripeness and ability to push this further. Theres a spicy and exotic nose that has quite expressive redder fruit and more pinot-driven shape and structure. The palate has very assertive phenolics, which will benefit from further ageing; this will eventually arrive at a more central focused palate. The silkiness is there, especially on the finish. Give this until 2020 and then for 10+ years after that. Much more powerful, structured style than the regular Cristal 2007. The first year of 100% biodynamic farming in these four plots.
