40% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot. The early-drinking second wine of Ch Figeac, successor to La Grange Neuve de Figeac – not made of leftovers, I was assured. Quite deep crimson with admirable energy. Fresh, round and lively with notable acidity and smooth tannins.

Fresh: this is drinking well now. Dark fruit with a leafy edge. A touch of sweetness on the palate but plenty of lift as well. Has a light, fine structure.
