Roc de Cambes 2020

Roc de Cambes

Case Format: 6x75cl

Max score: 95.0

Roc de Cambes is planted to 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. The Malbec and Cabernet Franc vines have been removed from the vineyard. Theterroir is mostly limestone and clay soils, similar to the Right Bank of Bordeaux, especially in Saint Emilion.Roc de Cambes is located in the Cotes de Bourg appellation. This Côtes de Bourg, probably the most famous in the world, is elegant, suave and immediately charming. Excellent in its callow youth, it also ages very well, developing the entire panoply of its aromas. A very great wine at the summitof its appellation area.

James Lawther MW

Ripe and concentrated but less decadent than the other wines in the Mitjavile stable. More dark fruit and innate freshness as well as a form that is linear rather than spherical. Touch of toasted oak and tannins that have a crunchy, mineral feel. (JL)

Smoky character on the attack, carefully interplayed with cloves, grilled tobacco, damson and red cherry fruits. Good stuff, nuanced and mouthwatering.
